Online access to 2M+ reports, dashboards, and tables. Trusted by Fortune 500 teams. Eni has reached an agreement with Generative Bionics, an Italian deep-tech business, to investigate possible technological and industrial cooperation in humanoid robotics, TradeArabia News Service reported. The arrangement focuses on Generative Bionics' humanoid robotic systems work, including its GENE.01 platform, and on joint workstreams that will evaluate possible uses within Eni's industrial and operational settings.
The partners will examine applications such as inspection, teleoperation, remote assistance and tasks in complex or potentially hazardous environments. They will also assess how robotics could enhance workplace safety and operational efficiency, and they intend to carry out testing and consider opportunities for industrial development. The collaboration aims to merge Eni's industrial, technological and high-performance computing strengths with Generative Bionics' robotics know-how. Another focus is the development and application of humanoid robots driven by Physical AI.
The agreement also encompasses exploration of new materials and components for humanoid robots, leveraging Eni's chemicals business, Versalis. Special attention will be paid to advancing the GENE.01 foot and footwear system, with the objective of creating lighter, stronger and scalable solutions that enhance impact absorption, grip, durability and assembly. Finproject, a Versalis company specializing in ultra-lightweight products, could help develop those solutions.
