The second annual World Humanoid Robot Games wrapped up in China last week, bringing a handful of new records – and plenty of hilarious fails.
One robot broke the 100-meter record with a sprint of 8.64 seconds. For comparison, the human world record of 9.58 seconds was set by Usain Bolt in 2009. Another robot set a record in the standing high jump with a leap of 9.45 feet, far higher than any human.

More than 2,000 robots from 600 teams participated in the five-day event. And while the technological advances were impressive, social media has been buzzing with videos of the mishaps, including flops, crashes, malfunctions and other moments of robot hilarity.
