Boxing, Backflipping Robots Rule at China’s Biggest AI Summit - Bloomberg
The more popular robots were the creations of Unitree, UBTech Robotics Corp. and Agibot, who’ve built up some name-recognition among the hundreds of startups and big tech firms vying to produce the world’s most advanced humanoid androids. The scores of machines on display were the most visible symbol yet of China’s surprisingly rapid ascent in a key arena of artificial intelligence. Hangzhou-based Unitree teased an entry-level $6,000 droid and ByteDance Ltd. posted a video of its Mini hanging up a shirt just days before the World Artificial Intelligence Conference kicked off over the weekend. AGIBOT rolls out 10,000th humanoid robot - The Robot Report
## Humanoids move into real-world production, says company AGIBOT said it took nearly two years to reach its first 1,000 units, followed by about a year to scale from 1,000 to 5,000 robots. The next jump took another year. In January, AGIBOT [debuted](https://www.therobotreport.com/agibot-makes-u-s-debut-with-more-than-5100-robots-shipped/) in the U.S. at [CES](https://www.therobotreport.com/tag/ces) and said it had released more than 5,100 robots. [According to Omdia](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Y67UM23sUW5Wly1A49DdIxHcXB1JFfqD/view), the startup was the No. 1 shipper of [humanoids](https://www.therobotreport.com/category/robots-platforms/humanoids/) in 2025, and IDC [ranked](https://www.agibot.com/article/231/detail/37.html) AGIBOT first in total shipment volume and leading in entertainment, research and education, exhibition and reception, and manufacturing. In just three months, AGIBOT said it went from 5,000 to 10,000 units shipped. It credited the rapid growth to its maturing supply chain, continuous improvement in manufacturing efficiency, and accelerating production of its complex hardware. The company said that a “significant portion” of its humanoids are operating in real-world environments in sectors such as logistics, retail, hospitality, and [education](https://www.therobotreport.com/tag/education/). It also claimed that its robots have begun entering industrial workflows. ## Partnerships help AGIBOT robots scale globally AGIBOT also noted that deployments of its humanoids are growing beyond the [Chinese market](https://www.therobotreport.com/chinese-robotics-outlook-2026-includes-growth-competitive-pressure/), from [Europe](https://www.agibot.com/article/231/detail/44.html) and [North America](https://www.agibot.com/article/231/detail/52.html) to Japan, [South Korea](https://www.therobotreport.com/aw-2026-features-korea-humanoid-debuts-industry-seeks-digital-transformation/), [Southeast Asia](https://www.agibot.com/article/231/detail/51.html), and the Middle East. The company last month [launched](https://www.agibot.com/article/231/detail/43.html) its full robot portfolio with Minth Group in Germany, and it recently [signed](https://prnmedia.prnewswire.com/news-releases/agibot-signs-strategic-cooperation-agreement-with-singtel-enterprise-302708995.html) its first operator agreement with Singtel Enterprise in Singapore. However, U.S. lawmakers [have proposed](https://www.therobotreport.com/arthur-erickson-explains-how-hylio-drones-address-agriculture-other-markets/) prohibiting federal purchase or use of certain Chinese-made robots with the American Security Robotics Act. The senators and representative sponsoring the legislation expressed concern about cybersecurity vulnerabilities. AGIBOT said it is continuing to refine system performance, reliability, and application capabilities. In January 2026, it [launched](https://www.therobotreport.com/agibot-launches-genie-sim-3-0-robot-simulation-platform/) the Genie Sim 3.0 robot simulation platform and was [recognized](https://www.agibot.com/article/231/detail/36.html) with “Best of CES” awards. The company is also [conducting](https://www.agibot.com/article/231/detail/45.html) the AGIBOT World Challenge at [ICRA](https://2026.ieee-icra.org/) 2026 in Vienna in June.

AGIBOT WORLD 2026 dataset is open-source to accelerate embodied AI development
The Robot Report # AGIBOT WORLD 2026 dataset is open-source to accelerate embodied AI development By The Robot Report Staff | April 7, 2026 AGIBOT's humanoid robot is designed with dexterity to collect and use simulation and real-world data. AGIBOT’s robot has a dexterous design to collect and use data. Source: AGIBOT As robotics research moves beyond controlled lab settings into real-world environments, the demand for large-scale, high-quality data has become increasingly critical, according to AGIBOT. The company today released AGIBOT WORLD 2026, an open-source heterogeneous dataset it said is designed to systematically support five key research pathways in embodied intelligence. [...] Unlike conventional datasets built on repetitive and scripted demonstrations, the Shanghai-based company has taken free-form data-collection approach, in which teleoperators dynamically perform tasks based on real-time conditions. It claimed that this strategy can significantly enhance diversity within each episode and improve generalization across multiple dimensions, including object categories, initial configurations, and task execution sequences.

AW 2026 features Korea humanoid debuts as industry seeks digital transformation
Chinese humanoid robots on display included the X2 and G2 models from Agibot, which claimed to be the world’s leading humanoid robotics company in terms of global shipments and market share. They are already in commercial use in China, a company representative told The Robot Report. Unitree‘s G1 performed pre-programmed martial arts moves, while Leju‘s Kuavo 4th Generation Pro walked around. G1 is intended as a research and development platform, and Kuavo, which uses NVIDIA Isaac Sim and Jetson, is in commercial proofs of concept. Semi-humanoid robots, with a human-like torso and a wheeled base, were more common sights than legged humanoids at AW 2026.

Towards Proprioception-Aware Embodied Planning for Dual-Arm Humanoid Robots
A key aspect of our low-level control is the implementation of distinct IK models tailored to each robot’s specific architecture. The Agibot X1 adopts a decoupled approach, solving the IK for each arm independently using a simplified pose matrix (a 3×3 rotation matrix with a translation vector) relative to its base frame. In contrast, the Unitree H1 utilizes a whole-body coordination model that solves for both arms simultaneously. This model employs a complete 4×4 homogeneous transformation matrix to incorporate full posture information and integrates current joint states (angles and velocities) for dynamic optimization, with a specific focus on maintaining balance constraints during bimanual operations. This dual-model approach allows DualTHOR to faithfully simulate the distinct control [...] (c) Living room 1 Refer to caption (d) Living room 2 Figure 2: Example scenes of different rooms in DualTHOR. The types and quantities of objects vary across rooms, and the humanoid robot is capable of interacting with all objects within each room. Humanoid Robots. To support a broad range of interaction scenarios, DualTHOR integrates two distinct humanoid robots: the powerful and stable Unitree H1, and the dexterous and precise Agibot X1. This diversity enables research on tasks ranging from heavy-duty interactions (H1) to fine-motor control (X1). Crucially, the two robots feature different end-effectors—dexterous hands for H1 and parallel grippers for X1—allowing the study of different manipulation paradigms within a unified platform. ### III-B Task Categories [...] ### V-C Main Results for Dual-Arm Tasks We test all baselines across the three task categories defined in Section III-B. Each task is tested on both X1 and H1 robots with 50 trials to ensure statistical reliability. Initial positions vary across rooms but remain consistent within the same room to preserve the reliability of historical trajectories for prompt-enhanced MLLMs. All baselines are tested under identical conditions: temperature set to 0, maximum token length 2048, input images scaled to resolution, and a maximum of 50 environment steps for high-level planning.
