Key takeaways

As of mid‑January 2026, the humanoid‑robot field is moving from showcase prototypes toward real‑world deployment. Chinese company UBTECH reported that it completed the world’s first mass delivery of more than 1,000 Walker S2 units to factories in 2025, demonstrating early commercial use despite still‑limited rollout. In Europe, UK‑based Humanoid and Siemens finished a proof‑of‑concept at Siemens’ Electronics Factory in Erlangen, where the HMND 01 wheeled Alpha robot achieved a throughput of 60 tote moves per hour, operated continuously for over 30 minutes, and maintained more than eight hours of uptime, signalling practical industrial viability. Meanwhile, US startup 1X released a physics‑based “World Model” that lets its Neo humanoid learn new tasks from internet‑scale video and prompts, paving the way for home shipments later in 2026. At CES 2026, Italy’s BionIT Labs launched Adam’s Hand, a dexterous robotic hand demonstrated on two humanoid platforms and now ready for integration across service and industrial robots. German firm NEURA Robotics also announced a strategic partnership with Bosch to co‑develop AI‑driven software, data collection pipelines and intuitive interfaces for industrial humanoids built in Germany. The International Federation of Robotics underscored that 2026 marks a shift toward deploying humanoids in logistics, manufacturing and service roles, with safety, reliability and productivity emerging as the key benchmarks for broader adoption.

NEURA Robotics GmbH this week announced a new strategic technology and development partnership with Robert Bosch GmbH. The companies plan to support the industrial deployment of humanoid robotics and physical AI from Germany.

The partners said they are expanding the data foundation for humanoid robotics. NEURA and Bosch will jointly collect real-world work, movement, and environmental data in Bosch facilities using advanced sensor technologies. As part of the collaboration, the companies will co-develop AI-based core and functional software, as well as intuitive user interfaces.
